Sequential Circuits Pro-1 synthesizer service. This one came in for an overhaul, a complete restoration.

13A fuse? Ok, not very common here in germany but ok. But not ok to me is the cutted earth connection. People do these when they have grounding issues. But it's not the right way and it's not a safe way. Please people, protect yourself against shock hazard. Please keep the earth connected.

The keys were noise. No wonder since the key bushings were worn out and needed to be replaced.

I cleaned the bus bar and the keycontacts and the keys and the frame and... everything.

The first electrolytic capacitor I desoldered showed sign of leakage. And it was close to be out of spec. I took them all out and replaced them against new caps using a high quality brand.

Last but not least I performed a calibration and running some tests. The Pro-1 is still one of my favourite analog vintage synthesizers.

There are lethal voltage exposed in electronic devices. Unless you know what you are doing, don’t try this. If you following along, you doing so at your own risk.
