Als erstes fiel mir das Band auf. Es sah sehr verschlissen aus und die Klebestelle löste sich schon. Diese Bandschleife war von keine guter Qualität. Der Klebestreifen war nicht nur schräg geklebt (kosmetik). Er überlappte auch, sodass sich der Klebstoff jedes Mal am Tonkopf abrieb.
The first thing I noticed was the tape. It looked very worn and the adhesive strip was already loosening. This loop was not of good quality. The adhesive strip was not only stuck at an angle (cosmetics). It also overlaped so that the glue rubbed off the tape head every time.

Der Motor brauchte einen Servive. Das Kugellager war total sticky. Also einmal zerlegen bitte. Falls Ihr das mal vorhabt solltet ihr das richtige Werkzeug haben um die Sicherungsringe zu entfernen. Und Ihr solltet sehr gedultig und sachte vorgehen. Alles gut reinigen, schmeieren und wieder zusammenbauen.
The motor needed servive. The bearing was totally sticky. Disassembling time. If you plan to do that, you should have the right tools to remove the locking rings. And you should be very patient and gentle. Clean, lubricate and reassemble everything well.

Und da es eine Restauration war, habe ich alle Filze erneuert, alle Kugellager greinigt und geschmiert, die Köpfe gereinigt, poliert und entmagnetisiert, alle Bandführenden Teile gereinigt, die Elkos getauscht und mir alles genauer angesehen. Dabei ist mir eine schwarze Stelle aufgefallen. Hier war mal eine Drahtbrücke, die wohl durch einen Kurzschluß wie eine Sicherung fungierte. Boom !
And since it was a restoration, I renewed all the felts, cleaned and lubricated all the bearings, cleaned, polished and demagnetized the heads, cleaned all parts leading to the tape, replaced the electrolytic capacitors and looked at everything more closely. I noticed a black spot. There used to be a wire bridge, which was probably short-circuited like a fuse. Boom!
