Korg DW8000 Synthesizer. Fehlerbeschreibung laut Kunde: Geht an und bekommt Strom reagiert aber nicht auf Bedienung und es kommt kein Sound.

Korg DW8000 synthesizer. Error description according to customer: It turns on and receives power but does not react to operation and there is no sound.

Die Ursache für die Fehlfunktion waren zum einen kalte Lötstellen (linkes Bild), die ich erneuert habe.

The cause of the malfunction was, on the one hand, cold soldering points (left picture), which I renewed.

Zum anderen war ein 5V Spannungsregler im Netzteil defekt. Diesen habe ich durch einen neuen ersetzt. Weil ich grad am Netzteil arbeitete habe ich auch noch die Wärmeleitpaste aller Spannungsregler erneuert.

On the other hand, a 5V voltage regulator in the power supply was defective. I replaced this with a new one. Because I was working on the power supply, I also renewed the thermal paste on all voltage regulators.

Dann noch die Batterie gewechselt und einen Halter eingebaut. Und zu guter Letzt die abgebrochenen Schraubenaufnahmen wieder mit dem Gehäuse verklebt. Voila.

Then the battery was changed and a holder was installed. And last but not least, the broken screw mounts are glued back to the housing. Voila.

There are lethal voltage exposed in electronic devices. Unless you know what you are doing, don’t try this. If you following along, you doing so at your own risk.
