This Ensoniq EPS sampler was in really bad condition when I got this. Not working. Dust and dirt everywhere. Usually I don't fix issues without a full restoration. No exception here. On my bench most issues are bad solder joints, bad connection (molex etc) or old components. If I take out the board, to examine the issues it might causes more damage to the board, more connectors go bad, cable breaking etc. So if I do a full restoration I can reflow all bad contacts, change all pad switches, clean all potentiometer and faders which can also cause issues and so on. That's what I have done here. And btw, who wants to work on a dirty unit with piss in it (e.g.) or any kind of nasty smell? One fader was broken. Keyboard got new bushings. Everything cleaned up very nicely and is working stable now. Here are my pics.
