Repair Roland Alpha Juno 1 Vintage Analog Synthesizer Reparatur
Roland Alpha Juno 1. After a quick test it was clear, that one voice was dead. Also one side of the stereo output didn´t work, or didn´t work well.
The dead voice was a quick find. A NOS IR3R05 chip was found in the internet. I socketed all of them.
I found a weak solder joint, which I reflowed. I carefully looked for more weak solder joints but they looked ok.
One output was working correct only with the slider potentiometer in full position. As soon as I moved the slider one side of the output dissapered. Time for a new slider. Dirty like hell and the carbon trace was worn out.
There are lethal voltage exposed in electronic devices. Unless you know what you are doing, don’t try this. If you following along, you doing so at your own risk.
I’m documenting repairs for my reference and yours.
