Yet another Roland Juno 106 Vintage Analog Synthesizer that came in for repair with a missing voice and some other issues. And this time it was not the voicechip (80017A VCF VCA) itself that failed.The chips tested ok. You can simply find this out by swapping the chips around. This time two bad components were responsible for the missing voice no.4. That transistor <--
The transistor measured bad in circuit and after desoldering I saw that it was physically damaged too.
And one diode, that also measured bad and fell into pieces after desoldering.
Customer also wanted a complete restoration. Everything was just dirty and all contacts needed a professional cleaning. Some faders were bended like here:
Some fader contacts were damaged (misalligned).
Some faders were broken and the slider dust pads were worn out and needed replacement..
There are lethal voltage exposed in electronic devices. Unless you know what you are doing, don’t try this. If you following along, you doing so at your own risk.
